A
career
in
the
Hospitality
&
Tourism
Industry
can
be
a
perfect
marriage
of
the
fun
&
profitable.
Granted,
it's
challenging,
and
as
much
or
more
work
than
practically
any
other
industry,
but
Hospitality
&
Tourism
offer
an
excitement
you
won't
always
find
in
your
ordinary
office
environment.
The
World
Travel
&
Tourism
Council
has
rightly
predicted
that
travel
and
tourism
is
one
of
the
three
dominant
industries
of
the
21st
century
economy.
Students
of
Hospitality
&
Tourism
can
expect
to
compete
for
positions
in
restaurants,
hotels,
transportation,
cruise
lines,
airlines,
tourist
attractions,
travel
agencies,
and
more.
Career
opportunities
are
also
available
for
a
newer
vocation
known
as
Holiday
Consultant--a
"one-stop-shop"
providing
travellers
with
all
the
details
of
their
travel
and
itinerary,
including
organizing
all
details
and
elements
of
a
tourist's
vacation.
Certification
and
undergraduate
degrees
are
essential,
but
employers
within
the
industry
are
increasingly
placing
more
of
a
premium
on
Master's
Degree
recipients.
Other
tourism-related
positions
are
available
within
financial
institutions,
as
well,
as
international
tourists
require
more
assistance
with
foreign
currencies,
exchange
rates,
etc.
The
Bureau
of
Labor
projects
jobs
within
the
Hospitality
and
Tourism
Industry
to
grow
steadily
over
the
next
decade.
The
world
is
becoming
a
more
wide-open
place,
and
people
are
increasingly
using
more
of
their
disposable
income
to
travel
abroad
and
experience
new
destinations.
